Keeping Kids Safe Online
KidsOKOnline (KOKO) does what it says on the tin! KOKO helps keep kids OK online and provides delightful, safe online learning and social spaces for kids, teens and adults. KOKO loves to help others do the same. KidsOKOnline’s online projects, dedicated to playful social learning, have for 25 years served over 2,000,000 young people and adults in 42 countries – all in complete safety.
KOKO was founded by Robert and Carole Hart Fletcher. They have backgrounds as multi-award winning and pioneering professional educators. They became leaders of Apple Global Education in 1990. They created the Tesco-sponsored SchoolNetGlobal with Professor Stephen Heppell in 1998. SchoolNetGlobal became the centrepiece of the LearnZone in the Millennium Dome at Greenwich, London. In 2001 they created GridClub Clubs for the UK Government, which developed into SuperClubsPLUS.
KOKO created the Children’s Community site for Barnardo’s with their secure community engine, KOKOkonx. KOKO is working with The Christie Hospital, Manchester on a project to support teenage and young adult cancer survivors. KOKO’s MySafeTXT moderation tools protect the IGGY Community. KOKO acts as expert child safety consultants for the amazing J.K.Rowling’s Pottermore social reading site. KOKO’s charity work includes running the KidsandMedia UK website and local community work in the beautiful South Hams of Devon.
