Influencing policy and practice

Influencing policy and practice

In the fairly recent past there have been a number of staff changes at the DfE. As a result policy is now centred on Computing Science and the e-safety aspect of Digital Literacy. Understanding of the importance of much of the other two strands has been sidelined: Information Technology and Digital Literacy.

As professionals we are now working to raise the profile of the other strands and to secure funding to promote them to schools by collating resources, undertaking research and training the trainers. Damian Hinds has announced a budget of £10m that we intend to pursue.

In the interim we have written article and reports that we can repurpose to develop a definitive submission about our proposals. These reports have all mentioned the support of our associates. We hope that you will join us in this campaign. Please join the online report writing ginger group by emailing Christina@mirandanet.ac.uk

We will be focusing our submission on the policies outlined by Damian Hinds at BETT19 but we hope to extend this remit which is very limited in scope.

Here are the different reports mentioning our associates that can be mined to reflect what our members are thinking….

(These final two documents are drafts to be developed.)
